It’s been over a year since I’ve posted. That’s pretty crazy.
It’s been over a year and a half since I blew out my right ACL and tore my meniscus in a skiing fall. I was lucky enough to have surgery pretty quickly, allowing me to ski (cautiously) for much of last season.
I have a lot of thoughts about the injury, surgery, and recovery process. The recovery is not complete. I still have pain when I ski, and other times. If all I did were mountain bike and hike, I think I’d be pretty happy. If I were still interested in playing soccer, I’d be despondent. As it is, I’m somewhere in between, still looking for – and critically, finding! – ways to improve my knee.
I would like to post about my recovery experiences – what worked for me and what didn’t, though it’s incredibly individual. Here’s hoping I’ll work up the courage to do that. Soon =)
